A Native Instruments Maschine and MIDI Designer user had this query about using Maschine with drumpads.

What I'm hearing is that each successive button press is a pitch up from the previous, but the same instrument. It's as if it's only incrementing pitch, but not the note to move to the next pad, even though I've chosen "Drumpad."

THE PROBLEM A Native Instruments Maschine and MIDI Designer user had this query about using Maschine with drumpads. What I'm hearing is that each successive button press is a pitch up from the previous, but the same instrument. It's as if it's only incrementing pitch, but not the note to move to the next pad, even though I've chosen "Drumpad." SOLUTION IN STEPS Using Maschine 2.x standalone with an external keyboard MIDI controller (like MIDI Designer). Launch Maschine File -> Project -> New File -> Audio and MIDI Settings -> MIDI Turn the relevant device to ON and hit OK Load a Kit Note: now the kit responds to the external MIDI controller, but it's just the instrument that is in slot 1 with different pitches In Group -> Channels -> Input -> MIDI -> Source, Select your MIDI controller Note: now the kit responds to different notes with different drums Set the root note to the right note for your external device Enjoy!
