Thanks for your question. You should be able to open it, but Lite removes most of the controls (randomly) so it's not that useful. This is an unfortunate result of Apple's policies on Lite apps (we cannot offer a timed demo version, for instance) and the way that Lite is structured (i.e., our fault).

That said, if you ask any questions about the X3 layout to its creator, he'll be glad to respond (I think), and perhaps even make a video of it in use (hopefully).

Thanks for your question and thanks for checking out MIDI Designer.

P.S. If you cannot open it meaning that it crashes or MD does some other strange behavior, please comment back here and we'll investigate.

ask questions to the creator by dropping a comment on the layout's "answer."
Thats what it does: crashes. I click the link in Safari, do Open in....MidiDesigner, and MidiDesigner launches, then goes away. I'm on an iPad 1st generation if that makes a difference.
The 1st gen could make a difference due to its memory constraints. I would definitely close other apps before trying. However, tomorrow morning I'll test this out with the iPad "1" to figure out: 1) can you load this template on Pro 2) if there's a problem with loading it on Lite 1.3.8. The "remove controls randomly" functionality probably hasn't been tested thoroughly in a bit.

Please bear with. Thanks!
Bug has been replicated, please see other answer. Thanks!
...never mind...i see your other answer now...
Thanks and yes, I got the template to load okay using Pro 1.3.8 on an iPad 1. As mentioned, the iPad 1 prefers you to close other Apps, but you will not hit memory crashes once you do that.
Hi!

Please go to POD X3 LIVE layout page. I erased everything not related to POD X3. Based on number of controls I use, PRO version is a must!
Updated version of POD X3 LIVE Layout available (February 3rd 2013). Fixed bugs (PRE and POST buttons now highlighted in correct order). PRE and POST buttons removed from STOMP page since STOMP effect cannot be moved in effect chain on POD X3.

Hi and thanks for your question. We have replicated the crash with MD Lite 1.3.8. The crash happens because MD is not allowed to take that long before unsuspending itself (returning to foreground), and randomly removing controls is a painstaking process.

You can open the template if you put it in there via iTunes. See this image for help, and let me know if you need more explicit instructions. Then you can load it via config -> actions -> load layout.

Hope that helps. Unfortunately, you won't see much of this layout with MD Lite.
